This publication is a collection of stories featuring the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It does not include all of the Sherlock Holmes stories. The collection was first published in 1892 and contains twelve short stories originally serialized in “The Strand Magazine” between 1891 and 1892.

While “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” is one of the most famous and widely read collections of Sherlock Holmes stories, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a total of fifty-six short stories and four novels featuring the detective. Subsequent collections include “The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes,” “The Return of Sherlock Holmes,” “His Last Bow,” and “The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes,” which together encompass the complete Sherlock Holmes canon.
